Summary
Join Eurofins Scientific as a Business Development Director, a home-based role with UK and European travel, working Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm. You will drive business growth by achieving personal and team sales targets within the biopharma product testing market. Lead and mentor a small team, focusing on UK Biopharma customers and leveraging the global Eurofins network. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans, identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and preparing proposals. You will also conduct market research, collaborate with internal teams, monitor sales performance, and attend industry events. The role involves managing UK ComLIMS, contractual processes, team activities, and delivering training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the biopharma or life sciences industry with demonstrated success in hitting sales targets
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical raw materials / finished product testing and/or microbiology/biocides testing
- Good understanding of GMP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve personal and team sales targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the biopharma product testing market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of business development professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve team objectives
- Prepare and deliver compelling quotations, presentations and proposals to prospective clients
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and technical experts, and other Eurofins country labs to ensure client needs are met and provide constructive input to process/delivery improvements
- Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing
- Support design of service solutions
- Management of UK ComLIMS (CLO, CLQ, CLPA)
- Management of contractual processes
- Scheduling of team activities
- Delivery of training
- Develop commercial and market awareness initiatives for all employees
- Propose and implement continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
