Summary

Join GenScript as a Business Development Manager and drive growth in our Protein Service Line across the Benelux and London regions. This fully remote position (Netherlands or Belgium based) requires identifying business opportunities, building client relationships, and achieving sales targets. You will develop and execute sales strategies, collaborate with internal teams, and conduct client presentations and workshops. The role involves extensive travel (up to 30%) within the assigned territories. You will be responsible for developing localized strategies and ensuring compliance with regional regulations. This position is with GenScript, not ProBio.

Requirements

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field is required
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the biotechnology or life sciences industry
  • Strong knowledge of protein services, protein engineering, and related biotechnologies
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regions (up to 30%)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the protein services market in the assigned regions
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to tailor offerings to regional demands
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in academic institutions, Governmental Institutions, Healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, and industrial organizations
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, ensuring high satisfaction and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth in the assigned territories
  • Collaborate with the different internal departments and teams to promote protein services and create customized solutions for clients
  • Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, legal, finance, FAS, TAM, PM and R&D, to deliver exceptional service and address customer-specific needs
  • Provide market feedback to the product development team for continuous improvement
  • Conduct client presentations and technical workshops to showcase GenScript’s protein service capabilities
  • Represent GenScript at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
  • Develop localized strategies for the Benelux and London region to expand GenScript’s footprint in emerging and established markets
  • Ensure compliance with regional regulations and adapt sales tactics to suit diverse cultural and market contexts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to the assigned territories is a plus (e.g., Dutch, German or French)
  • Strong knowledge of mammalian expression systems is a plus
