Summary
Join onX as a Business Development Representative to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth. This pivotal role requires a seasoned sales professional with 4+ years of experience in software solution-based sales. You will conduct high-volume prospecting, build customer relationships, identify new opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Work remotely from various onX locations, including corporate offices and Basecamps. This role reports to the GM of onX for New Markets and may grow into an account manager or sales manager role.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software solution-based sales (where success depended on consultative selling and tailored solutions vs. transactional, one-time, or commodity sales)
- Proven success in selling new products or new business line development, meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPI
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities
- Understanding of technical sales cycles and the ability to adapt approaches based on customer needs
- Results-oriented, self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
- Enthusiasm for exploring new markets, engaging in discovery processes, aligning product value to customer needs, and have the tenacity to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume prospecting (telemarketing) to generate qualified leads (between 40 and 60 calls per day)
- Work closely and collaboratively with sales leadership to develop and implement appropriate prospect strategies and plans
- Build strong relationships with current and potential customers to understand their unique needs and position onX products as solutions
- Identify new opportunities within the segment and current customers to increase revenue and expand market share
- Gather and analyze trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence to inform sales strategies and product positioning
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align sales efforts with broader company goals and ensure seamless customer experiences
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM Tools, tracking leads, opportunities, and closed deals
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs
- Act as a voice for the customer within onX, ensuring their needs and feedback are represented in product development and marketing strategies
- Ability to travel monthly for multiple days to a corporate office, customer site, or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp
Preferred Qualifications
- Mobile and/or SaaS sales experience is strongly preferred
- Technical understanding of GIS software, data visualization, and collaborative mapping technology
