Summary
Join Chomps, the fastest-growing food brand in the U.S., as the Manager, Category Management. You will be responsible for providing category management and insight support across the Chomps product portfolio within key accounts and sales channels. Collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing teams to execute growth strategies. Leverage data analysis to generate win-win opportunities with retail partners. This role requires strong analytical skills, data interpretation, and excellent communication. The position is remote and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3+ years of experience in category management, marketing and/or account management
- Advanced user level in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
- Working knowledge of secondary and syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Spins, IRI, Numerator, 84.51, etc.), loyalty card and shopper panel metrics
- Outstanding analytical skills with demonstrated success translating data into actionable insights and visual selling content
- Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills
- Ability to prioritize a high volume of requests and projects
Responsibilities
- Develop category expertise, identify, and articulate business insights and fact-based opportunities (storytelling) for assigned key accounts/channels by leveraging a variety of retailer, vendor, market/consumption, and shopper data sources (Numerator, retailer specific)
- Utilize various information sources to address a variety of routine and ad-hoc analytical projects, including (but not limited to) regularly published retailer and/or category scorecards, performance reports/updates with assessment of brand, category, and competitive opportunities/issues
- Act as the front-line owner of data, responsible for organizing, scrubbing, analyzing, and finalizing large sets of raw data
- Act as the expert in utilizing customer-specific shopper and data platforms to best leverage information to influence decision making, both internal and external
- Partner with marketing and sales teams by providing analytics, reporting, and data-driven content addressing customer and category questions and opportunities
- Develop strong fact-based selling stories for innovation launches, close distribution gaps and expanding distribution to support company, consumer, and customer strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to create category-focused analysis & compelling insights to drive Chomps strategic priorities
- Provide competitive intelligence and analyses (total category, channel, customer level) to proactively protect or grow our business
- Contribute to the measurement of test-and-learn initiatives and continuous improvement of shelving and merchandising recommendations
- Create a competitive advantage with a data driven approach to in-store shelving, retail inventory and broker/third-party management
- Accepts responsibility for the organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the Sales and Business Intelligence departments
Preferred Qualifications
Prior industry experience in food, CPG, and/or grocery/natural
