Requirements
- 2+ years of Clinical Practice experience as an AGACNP is required
- Ability to acquire Minnesota RN APRN license is required
- Have an adequate computer to handle an electronic learning platform, keyboard, pointing device, and computer monitor
- Be able to use Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), zip software, and Adobe Acrobat
- Have reliable internet access as well as alternate access in cases where primary access becomes unavailable
- Possess a significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field of [school specific], including experience in the practice of [field of study]
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment
- Demonstrate teaching, advising and mentoring skills; commitment to the promotion of applied research and the recruitment and development of a diverse faculty; excellent leadership, communication, team, and human relations skills
- Be appropriately credentialed and possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught
- Be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific programs
- Maintain licenses and any appropriate certifications to continue teaching at Walden University
- Maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations
- If participating in research, publish and acknowledge Walden University
Responsibilities
- Educate Walden University students effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources
- Impart knowledge, information, feedback, and critique to students through thoughtful, carefully formulated, well-written, and timely communications
- Adhere to all Walden University Faculty expectations
- Receive specific training from Walden University in teaching techniques, use of an electronic learning platform, policies, procedures, and degree programs
- Receive training in socialization into the Walden University culture and assessment of academic integrity of student work (including use of www.turnitin.com)
- Receive training in research supervision of theses and dissertations
- Teach assigned courses using the eCollege platform and interact with students within this platform
- Respond to student questions within 48 hours
- Verify the accuracy of student postings and submissions and provide feedback and grades to students through Blackboard
- Be reasonably accessible to students outside the course discussion board
- Provide substantive feedback on assignments and postings
- Publish availability to students through course syllabi, instructor information in the classroom, and/or other appropriate documents
- Attend Residencies (domestically or internationally) to teach intensives and colloquia and facilitate discussions (part-time faculty may, but are not required to attend)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in the field of study or closely related field (or recognized by a countryβs Ministry of Education or Counsel of Higher Education) is preferred
- Teaching experience at the degree level of the program is preferred
- RN and APRN license in one of the 50 states is preferred
- Experience with distance learning is preferred
Benefits
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course
