You will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to clients' data platform components within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. This role demands strong GCP expertise, proficiency in multiple programming languages, and experience with containerization and automation tools. You will support compute infrastructure, diagnose integration issues, and optimize batch processing environments. Success requires excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced consulting environment. The position requires working in the US time zone and having a work permit to work from the EU.

Requirements

  • Availability to work in US time zone (until 10:00/11:00 pm CET)
  • 3+ years of support experience with GCP, with emphasis on troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of Google services, including BigQuery, Workflows, Batch, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Run, GCS, monitoring, logging, VPC concepts, and networking
  • Proficiency in interpreting code written in Python, R, and Java
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools like Git, GitHub Actions, and PySpark
  • Familiarity with GCP Console and command-line tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to respond effectively to client users' queries
  • Experience taking ownership of complex technical issues from identification to resolution
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and under pressure
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with minimal supervision at client sites
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Work from EU and a work permit to work from EU are required

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to clients' data platform components, including BigQuery, Workflows, Batch, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Run, and GCS
  • Supporting compute infrastructure needs for client users, including containerization, environment setup, and dependency management
  • Diagnosing and resolving integration and configuration issues
  • Configuring and optimizing batch processing environments tailored to specific client workload demands
  • Automating environment setup and management through infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Assisting client users with integration issues between platforms and enterprise tools like Microsoft Identity Manager and Colibra
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful issue resolution for our clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Cloud Engineer Certification
  • Professional Data Engineer Certification
  • Experience with third-party tools commonly used in data platforms, such as Colibra
  • Understanding of Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) for permission-related troubleshooting
  • Experience with automation of environment setup through infrastructure as code (IaC)
