Summary

Join Distinguished Programs, a leading national insurance Program Manager, as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter specializing in Businessowners Policies (BOP) for restaurants. You will evaluate and underwrite applications, ensuring profitability and compliance. This remote position requires at least 3 years of commercial insurance underwriting experience with BOP focus, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft applications. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting with specific experience underwriting Businessowners Policies (BOP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make informed underwriting decisions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, agents, and clients
• High attention to detail and accuracy in underwriting documentation and decision-making
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze new and renewal insurance applications for Restaurant Businessowners Policies
• Determine appropriate coverage, pricing, and terms for policies based on underwriting guidelines and risk assessment. Rate accounts in carrier rating system
• Make sound underwriting decisions within assigned authority levels and escalate complex cases to management as necessary
• Work closely with agents & brokers to gather necessary information, explain coverage options, and resolve inquiries related to underwriting decisions
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with other departments as needed, including business development, to support business objectives and ensure a seamless customer experience
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously enhance underwriting processes and policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with ImageRight document management
• Restaurant underwriting experience
