Community Engagement and Social Media Manager

Summary

Dagster Labs is seeking a Community Engagement and Social Media Manager to craft engaging content for their data engineering community. The role involves creating short-form content across various platforms, managing social media presence, engaging with the data engineering community, and staying current with trends. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in technical marketing or content marketing, strong understanding of data engineering concepts, excellent communication skills, and a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical marketing, content marketing, or social media within the data, IT, or infrastructure ecosystem
• Proven track record as an excellent short-form copywriter, creating results-driven content for social channels, emails, websites, and events
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, market trends, and customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative strategies that drive measurable results
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms
• Proven success in growing and engaging online communities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to new challenges
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives

Responsibilities

• Craft engaging, witty short-form content for social media, newsletter, emails, web pages, talk abstracts, and ads
• Develop and implement content across various platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice
• Manage Dagster's presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, Slack, and YouTube, including content scheduling and community engagement
• Drive employee advocacy and help leadership team build thought leadership in the data engineering space
• Engage with the data engineering community and collaborate with industry influencers
• Analyze social media and community metrics, providing insights to refine strategies
• Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align community efforts with overall business goals

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with open-source software communities is a plus
