Summary
Join Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida (PPSENFL) as a Community Health Educator II! This role involves developing and delivering sexual health education programs to youth and adults in various community settings. You will also facilitate peer education programs and build partnerships with community organizations. The position requires a college degree or equivalent experience in community education or related fields. It's a remote position, contingent on grant funding, and offers competitive compensation and benefits, including paid time off and eligibility for other benefits after 60 days.

- College degree or at least three years professional experience in community education, youth development and/or sexuality/sexual health
- Experience working with community-based audiences and youth
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high quality education programs related to sexual health to youth and adults in a variety of settings
- Facilitate evidence-based programs (EBPs) and other education programs, as assigned
- Recruit, coordinate and facilitate adult education programming for caregivers and youth
- Network with other community-based organizations to cultivate awareness and use of PPSENFL services
- Provide resource consultation to community-based organizations regarding sexual health education
- Identify professional and community audiences and market education programs
- Cultivate an awareness of the diversity of PPSENFLβs customer base and provide programs and services that reflect competency around issues of diversity
- Respond to the educational needs of the region by acting as an informational resource for agencies in the area regarding issues involving sexual health education
- Respond to community agencies in a timely manner and develop and maintain contacts in the community and local schools in order to market programs
- In consultation with the Program Director and/or Manager, represent the agency on community and/or statewide committees that are aligned with, or further the mission of PPSENFL
- Identify and develop partnerships with other agencies related to high-risk populations that enhance PPSENFL 's ability to satisfy its mission and strategic plan
- Recruit and train PPSENFL teen peer educators/interns and coordinate all aspects of the program
- Plan and implement orientation and training on sexual health education through a variety of EBPs and programs
- Organize and facilitate monthly peer education trainings/meetings
- Assist with the development and expansion of youth programming at PPSENFL
- Provide service-learning opportunities for peer educators/interns throughout the year
- Chaperone youth to conferences or events outside PPSENFLβs service area
Benefits
- Hourly compensation range: Starting at $48,000.00/year
- Eligible for all applicable benefits effective the first of the month following 60 days from your hire date
- Paid Time Off, accrues immediately but can't be taken until after 90 full days of employment : 3 weeks of paid time off, 10 recognized Holidays in addition to PTO, 1 personal day, and birthday
