Summary

Join Babbel as a German Content Creator (Freelancer) to develop engaging German materials for our migration/integration course, focusing on an intensive German course (A1-B1) and an integration component. This remote position requires creating and designing engaging materials, mapping content to the Babbel app, optimizing content based on feedback, and managing the curriculum. You will utilize content management tools and AI tools to optimize learning content. The ideal candidate possesses native German and English proficiency, knowledge of the CEFR framework, experience in creating online teaching materials, and familiarity with the digital self-study market. This is a freelance position starting ASAP.

Requirements

• German & English language skills (native proficiency)
• Knowledge of the CEFR framework
• Familiarity with the Babbel app
• Experience in creating and editing online teaching material
• Experience in the field of language learning and familiarity with the digital self-study market
• Working knowledge of Google Suite
• The ability to work to deadlines and be dedicated to output
• A tax number for freelance work (not necessarily issued by the German authorities)

Responsibilities

• Curate and design engaging materials for an Intensive German course (A1-B1)
• Mapping content to the Babbel app lessons and optimizing mapping based on feedback
• Optimise and improve our learning content based on teacher and learner feedback
• Manage the curriculum and content suite, potentially with content management tools (e.g. Contentful) and AI tools, and drive the optimization of learning content through AI-assisted content creation

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of other languages is a strong plus (Ukrainian, Arabic etc)
• Knowledge of migration/integration courses in Germany
• Previous experience in a fast-paced start-up environment is a strong plus
• A university degree in German Teaching, Education, Linguistics, or a related field
• A passion for languages and cultures
