Requirements

  • At least one year of work experience
  • Access to a computer or laptop (camera preferred) with reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Strong proficiency with technology and aptitude to learn new technologies and processes quickly
  • Ability to interact with children compassionately and patiently
  • Confidence to make decisive judgment calls on students’ posts
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with current trends to understand and relate to young audiences
  • Understanding of online safety and child protection principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle issues in user-generated content
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review a high volume of student-generated content, including text, artwork, and videos, ensuring compliance with community guidelines
  • Respond to student inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally to maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students develop respectful social skills
  • Collaborate with the moderation team and management to refine content policies and improve moderation processes
  • Stay informed about trends and pop culture to connect effectively to our young audience
  • Make quick, thoughtful judgment calls to address content violations and uphold community standards
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance content moderation techniques and stay updated on best practices
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts by sharing insights and suggestions with the team
  • Ensure a positive user experience by proactively identifying and addressing potential issues in the community
  • Track and document moderation actions accurately to maintain detailed records and support team goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in content moderation or community management
  • Proven track record of going above and beyond
