Summary

Join Elation Health's Finance team as their Controller! This senior management role requires 10+ years of experience in a high-growth SaaS company, ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience. You will lead the accounting team, overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls. The position demands strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, along with experience in M&A. You'll be responsible for strategic planning, system development, and managing external relationships. The salary range is $230,000 - $290,000/year.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in a senior management role ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth enterprise SaaS or software company
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business

Responsibilities

  • Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training and success in the accounting organization
  • Demonstrates an ability to influence multiple functions to develop clear, stretch Objective and Key Results (β€œOKRs”) and help to resolve cross functional escalations for their direct functions
  • Ensure that Function OKRs are consistent with clear linkage to Department and Corporate OKRs
  • Manage all accounting functions including financial reporting, revenue recognition, tax preparation and provision, treasury, and billing operations and systems
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process, oversees consolidations, reviews journal entries and reconciliations performed by team members, publishes internal/external consolidated financial statements
  • Proactively lead all aspects of technical accounting, including revenue recognition under ASC 606, inter-company entries, equity accounting and compensation, research technical accounting matters as they arise and determine accounting treatment for complex transactions
  • Own the development and implementation of all accounting policies and procedures with the adaptation of the business changes and accounting pronouncements
  • Participate in the overall strategic planning for their functional area
  • Oversee audits and manage relationship with the Audit Committee and External Auditor
  • Oversee risk management and insurance
  • Establish, implement, and oversee appropriate internal controls (sox lite), and other statutory requirements
  • Responsible for setting the technology roadmap for the accounting function in respect to key initiatives, interoperability, and highest and best use of resources
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, legal firms, insurance brokers, audit committee, customers and vendors
  • Provide ad-hoc support and services as needed on acquisitions, including integration of accounting operations, processes and systems, equity and debt capital raises

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA with Big 4 experience and prior healthcare industry experience
  • Prior experience evaluating acquisition targets and leading accounting people, process, and systems integration of acquired targets
  • Process and detail orientation; strong analytical and quantitative skills and superior accounting skills. Proven ability to clearly and concisely implement new processes and leveraging technology. Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills. Strong documentation skills. Strives for an effective and efficient accounting close cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to drive systems interoperability of best-in-class systems
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key financial systems to support a publicly-traded company
  • Pioneers new uses of systems generally adopted by benchmarks
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, lean environment while not losing sight of the broader vision and opportunity
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, gain input and consensus from key stakeholders, and knowledge of how to motivate and organize teams behind shared goals and objectives
  • Ability to eloquently distill and communicate complex topics broadly to the leadership team, front-line team members and everyone in between. A proactive, positive attitude with a can-do, service-oriented mentality

Salary: $230,000 - $290,000k/yr USD
