Summary

Join Foodsmart's Finance team as their Controller and lead all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. You will oversee the preparation of financial statements, lead the budgeting process, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulations, manage audits and tax filings, and implement internal controls. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA license, 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance (including 2+ years in management), and expertise in GAAP and financial reporting. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Controller and have an active CPA license
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, with proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
  • A proven track record of effective financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with the FP&A team to develop financial forecasts
  • Continuously increase efficiency of month end close and shorten month-end close cycle
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards while managing annual audits
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and monitor cash flow to meet operational needs
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or a related sector, particularly with Revenue Cycle Management (claims), is a plus
  • Experience working at both large companies and startups (experience working at a big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred)
  • Proactive and driven by a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
  • A strong leader who can mentor and manage a team, providing both guidance and support
  • Analytical, with a focus on continuous improvement in systems and processes
  • Collaborative, able to work cross-functionally with IT and other departments to improve financial management systems
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring that compliance and financial accuracy are always top priorities
