Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in legal operations, contract management, or a related role
  • Experience in a Private Equity (PE) environment is required. Candidates should have demonstrated success navigating the unique challenges and opportunities associated with PE-backed companies
  • Experience working with legal workflow tools like JIRA and CRMs such as Salesforce
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of legal requirements in SaaS or a related technology industry

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company’s business objectives
  • Advise senior management and the Board of Directors on legal issues, risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct initial contract reviews, identifying key legal and business issues
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Professional Services (PS), and Customer Success (CS) teams to ensure smooth legal workflows
  • Oversee the organization of the legal workflow in JIRA and conduct weekly review meetings to ensure timely contract processing
  • Drive improvements in contract management, ensuring proper documentation of special terms, such as customer logo usage agreements
  • Collaborate with Salesforce administrators or other CRM stakeholders to create a searchable database for special contract terms
  • Address a variety of legal inquiries, including but not limited to insurance, data/privacy, commercial issues, and customer complaints
  • Provide support in handling external subpoenas
  • Leverage knowledge of Terms of Service (TOS) to address customer disputes and complaints
  • Work closely with external European counsel on data/privacy matters and identify opportunities for cost reduction in this area
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and internal policies
  • Identify legal risks in contracts and propose solutions to mitigate those risks
  • Stay informed on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business, particularly in the areas of contract law, privacy, and insurance
