Summary

Join Duolingo's global brand studio team as a creative leader passionate about developing impactful creative work for the Asian market. Partner with marketing directors in China, Japan, and Korea to elevate the Duolingo brand. Develop and experiment with new creative ideas across various media channels. Collaborate with agency partners and internal teams to deliver high-quality creative. Work with illustrators, designers, and animators to create a cohesive brand experience. Strive for excellence and deliver iconic brand moments. This role requires a strong track record of successful creative work in Asia, a deep understanding of Asian culture, and experience leading creative teams.

Requirements

  • A strong know-how and proven track record of creative work that has gone viral in Asia
  • Strong understanding of emerging and trending culture including niche fandoms and subcultures before they hit the mainstream
  • Experience leading creative teams, agency, in-house and contractors enabling your reports to do their best creative work
  • Portfolio that includes social-first brand campaigns, concepts that drive earned media, experiential activations, and crafted video productions
  • Experience in quick-moving, high-stakes environments. You have a natural drive to work hard. You maintain early-stage startup intensity at any scale
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and can prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of our product, how it works and how we scale it into our marketing channels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, forward-thinking creative, proactivity and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing directors in the APAC region (China, Japan, Korea) to develop creative that helps elevate the Duolingo brand
  • Develop & experiment with new creative ideas and content across a range of media channels such as social media, brand campaigns, brand partnerships and new things we haven’t developed yet
  • Collaborate and provide feedback with our local market agency partners and other contractors to deliver creative that raises and sets the executional bar
  • Collaborate with illustrators, designers and animators to bring a cohesive brand experience to the world across marketing touchpoints
  • Partner with other teams to deliver Iconic brand moments and constantly strive for excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Produced creative Industry award winning brand campaigns that have led to meaningful business impact
  • Working proficiency in more than one language. Ideally Mandarin, and or Japanese & Korean
  • A strong passion for education, memes, culture, and language
