The position reports to the Chief Delivery Officer and involves close collaboration with regional and leadership teams.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience of 10+ years in any combination of: social enterprise, INGO, Mobile Network Operator, ICT4D, donor or international implementer
- Leadership skills, including cross-cultural experience, and a passion for unleashing the potential of your colleagues. Minimum 5 years team management experience
- Minimum 7 years project management experience
- Demonstrated self-management, skills, adaptability and resourcefulness
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; strong influencing and negotiation skills
Responsibilities
- Monitor and continuously seek to improve Viamo's delivery KPIs
- Plan and manage the capacity of the delivery team to ensure availability of required competencies and optimum resource utilization
- Review monthly regional revenue projections, identify invoices at risk, report to Delivery Management and take corrective action
- Collaborate with central delivery / delivery management teams to review tools, SOPs, and guidance documents for effective, high quality project delivery
- Lead efforts to capture and disseminate impact, lessons learned, best practices, and innovations from program delivery in the region
- Coordinate with Country Directors and Regional Partnerships Director to ensure alignment on their sales pipeline and delivery needs in the region
- Support the sales and central partnerships team with business development efforts in the region
- Coordinate with other Viamo functional leaders to break organizational barriers and ensure smooth collaboration across departments
- Oversee the implementation of all projects in the region, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with internal and donor policies
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and donor requirements
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks to project implementation, ensuring smooth delivery and partners’ delight
- Support the development of project budgets, and oversee (approve) financial reporting
- Support the operationalization of systems to promote accountability to clients and end-users of Viamo products by reviewing and supporting resolution of all project severities (1, 2 and 3)
- Ensure that the delivery team in the region is trained and proficient in using Viamo’s Project Management tools and processes and in delivering Viamo’s product suite
- Coach and manage Head of Programs and Program Managers while providing access to high-quality learning opportunities, emphasizing career development
- Collaborate with Viamo's Human Resources to ensure sound performance management and fair performance-based compensation
- Lead the planning and recruitment of additional members of the regional delivery team
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional growth
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree
- Experience living and working in the region
- Project Management Certification, such as CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2 or PMDPro
- Experience implementing projects funded by major bilateral/multilateral funders e.g. USAID, UN agencies
