Summary

Join our team as a Delivery Manager and lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering impactful digital, data, and technology services for a public sector client. You will be responsible for team motivation, effective collaboration, and outcome delivery aligned with business and user needs. This role requires navigating complex delivery environments, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement using Agile and Lean methodologies. You will manage stakeholder expectations, address risks and issues, and ensure adherence to service standards. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in public sector digital project delivery, strong Agile and Lean understanding, and expertise in managing teams and stakeholders within government projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering digital, data, or technology projects in a public sector environment
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies at a practitioner level
  • Experience in managing teams, stakeholders, and suppliers within government or consultancy-led projects
  • Ability to balance commercial and financial considerations, ensuring value-driven outcomes
  • Expertise in facilitating cross-functional teams, removing blockers, and driving momentum
  • Strong knowledge of government digital standards, governance, and procurement processes

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and maintain high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Focus teams on the most critical aspects of product and service delivery, ensuring alignment with project objectives
  • Apply Agile and Lean methodologies to drive effective delivery, experimenting with and adapting processes as necessary
  • Effectively communicate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations and facilitating discussions
  • Identify and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring delivery momentum is maintained
  • Support teams through different stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring adherence to service standards
  • Monitor budgets, assess cost vs. value, and ensure supplier and contract management processes are adhered to
  • Identify and challenge unnecessary organisational processes, coaching teams to inspect and adapt workflows
  • Use data-driven insights to inform planning, manage dependencies, and provide assurance on delivery progress

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working at HEO/SEO Civil Service grade levels
  • Certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe, or AgilePM)
  • Experience in GDS-aligned projects
