Developer Relations Manager, Community Manager

Join Visier, a leader in people analytics, as we embark on an exciting growth chapter! This Developer Relations role, ideally based in Vancouver but open to remote candidates in Canada, focuses on building and executing a developer relations plan aligned with corporate goals. You will develop advocacy within key technical personas, engage with developers, design and scale documentation and community experiences, and deeply understand and communicate the value of Visier's platform. Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, documentation, and product teams is crucial. The role involves creating content to attract developers and expanding product adoption within the community. Compensation includes a base pay range of $108k - $162k/year plus bonus, with additional compensation possibilities.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience in technical roles in the analytics domain (for example, BI analyst, technical program manager, software engineer, partner engineer, developer advocate, technical writing)
- Expertise in developer advocacy and community engagement
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly proficient in written and oral communication with a strong background in (and affinity for) technical writing
- Proactivity in creating how-to guides, blog posts, community updates and more to meet the goals of our developers and community strategy
- Ability to develop a strong vision, strategy and collaborative execution
- Excellent collaboration skills, and persuasion and influence
Responsibilities
- Build and execute a plan for Visier’s developer relations function aligned to strategic corporate goals
- Develop advocacy in key technical personas that are strategic to Visier’s continued growth, namely HRIT leads, data engineers, analytic developers and product leaders
- Engage with developers where they are. Nurture and amplify community voices that build and diversify our developer community. This includes engaging with external communities, such as speaking engagements at conferences where our key personas are
- As our Voice of the Developer design, expand and scale our documentation and community experiences. Gather intel and conduct research to keep up with the evolving world of software development
- Deeply understand and communicate the value of Visier’s platform to internal and external audiences. Consult key builder teams on how to build their desired value propositions on Visier’s technologies. Invision and map workflows to help provide a starting point for developers
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, documentation, customer education, product, and development to find new audiences and create rapid time-to-value for our developer teams
- Expand adoption and the number of products in use by our Developer Community through documentation, community and communications
- Create content to attract more developers to our community through video webinars, blog posts, meetups and trade shows
Preferred Qualifications
Multiple years of coding experience
