Developer Success Engineer

Summary

Join Dagster Labs, a well-funded startup, as a Developer Success Engineer. You'll be part of a distributed team providing technical support to Dagster+ customers and open-source users. Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, leading customer onboarding, improving documentation and tooling, and collaborating with clients and internal teams. Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in technical support or a similar role
• Proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and CI/CD workflows
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with empathy for clients and ability to advocate for their needs while representing the company effectively
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges independently
• Proactive mindset for engaging with customer issues and driving improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Dagster+ customers and open-source users
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Dagster installations, integrations, and deployments
• Troubleshoot issues with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) to help customers implement solutions effectively
• Work flexible shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM ET to provide timely support to customers across different time zones
• Lead customer onboarding for seamless Dagster+ adoption
• Provide technical guidance on data orchestration and integration
• Develop training content and examples
• Collaborate with clients and sales to build strong relationships
• Improve documentation for clarity and usability
• Improve support tooling and develop debugging resources to expedite issue resolution
• Provide feedback to engineering and product teams to drive product improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow, Prefect)
• Knowledge of data engineering
• Experience at high-growth SaaS startups

• The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $175,000 - $215,000
