Requirements

  • 4+ years experience building and managing a development or business development pipeline
  • 4+ years experience securing commitments or closing deals to drive a multi-million dollar revenue goal
  • Demonstrated prior experience managing grant portfolios and taking ownerships of deliverables
  • Demonstrated prior experience supporting building relationships with high profile/high stakes relationships; has knowledge of best practices in stewardship
  • Demonstrated prior experience in building and improving systems to support foundations of inaugural team
  • Demonstrated experience using a variety of software, including a CRM (Salesforce), project management tools (Monday.com), and Google Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibits strong writing skills in all aspects: including internal written communications, grant writing, and synthesizing research
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities, systems thinker
  • Exhibits a solid understanding of managing a pipeline, pitching meetings, and closing deals that drive revenue
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Ability to travel within the US for 1-2 multi-day team meetings per year
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree

Responsibilities

  • Lead the drafting of all current grant reports, and project manage the revision process with key collaborators
  • Own the grant reporting timelines and internal tracking system to be able to backwards plan with key milestones in the process
  • Collaborate internally across program and finance teams to get deliverables in a timely manner
  • Identify risks to any renewals and work with VP of Development to problem solve
  • Revise and edit narratives to ensure consistency of voice aligned to TRAILS mission, program model, and brand
  • In collaboration with the VP of Development, maintain the current funder and supporter pipeline - driving strategy in prospecting and moving the funnel
  • Support and tee-up effective research and context for the VP of Development and CEO for prospecting calls and meetings with potential funders
  • Continuously track post-meeting notes and maintain follow-up tasks; ensure the VP of Development and CEO are aware of critical and urgent follow-up communications
  • Track timelines for renewals with funders and champions
  • In collaboration with the VP of Development, support maintaining the current prospecting and pipeline management tool, with an eye toward building up and continuous improvement
  • Identify new opportunities to engage and steward our portfolio of funders and supporters; and drive ideas to execution with alignment from VP of Development
  • Maintaining the teamโ€™s processes and systems (i.e. Salesforce, Monday.com) with an eye toward building up and continuous improvement
  • This role will eventually support the migration of our current prospecting data into CRM (Salesforce)
  • Supporting evolution of systems processes by documenting standard operating procedures
  • Support in the maintenance of brand and marketing collateral
  • Attend Development Team Meetings and any cross-collaboration team events
  • Attend all staff meetings and retreats, workgroups and other relevant TRAILS meetings as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated prior experience in supporting a rapidly growing organization is a plus
