Summary

Join Black Futures Lab and Black to the Future Action Fund as their Digital Marketing Strategist! This remote, shared position reports to the Deputy Director, Communications and is crucial for growing our impact. You will develop and execute integrated marketing strategies across various digital channels, including website management, email marketing, and paid advertising. This role demands strategic thinking, creative execution, and analytical skills to drive impactful campaigns. You'll manage digital assets, create engaging content, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requirements

  • At least five years of integrated digital marketing and communications experience with documented outcomes, including strategic planning and execution
  • At least two years of experience working on political or electoral campaigns

  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful communications and marketing strategies that enhances brand awareness and reputation
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and storytelling skills (across media) and experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders
  • In-depth understanding of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads, social media insights) and ability to interpret data to drive decision-making
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive email design, including A/B testing and data-driven decision making
  • Proficiency in managing paid advertising campaigns using platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager (Facebook/Instagram), and LinkedIn Ads
  • Knowledge of ad targeting techniques, keyword research, and audience segmentation to maximize campaign reach and efficiency
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with the ability to manage overlapping projects while prioritizing incoming requests and meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Office) suite and/or Google Drive suite
  • Familiarity with monday.com and/or other workflow management/productivity systems
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications opportunities, including select crisis situations
  • Ability to be available via text and/or phone to address urgent concerns and requests if they arise
  • Able to work on a computer, including sitting at a desk for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation; manual dexterity to operate a keyboard; able to see or read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; able to speak clearly and in audible tones on the phone and in-person and be understood by others; able to hear and understand speech, including on the phone; able to understand and follow oral and written instructions; able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Oversees website design, optimization and maintenance in alignment with SEO/SEM best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience
  • Create and manage website updates in collaboration with internal teams, including page creation and layout, on-page SEO, blogs, and edits
  • Assist with managing Google Ads and Analytics, both tactically and strategically, to understand our online presence across website and digital ad channels
  • Develop, execute, and optimize end-to-end email marketing strategies, from concept to delivery and analysis
  • Create engaging and hard-hitting email and digital content campaigns (newsletters, event marketing, ads, etc.) that resonate with our audiences and align with our brand voice, including writing copy, designing appealing visuals and videos, and drafting persuasive calls to action
  • Segment and manage email audience lists, ensuring accurate targeting, tagging, and personalized communication based on demographics, preferences, and behaviors
  • Identify opportunities for email optimization and implementing A/B testing to analyze performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and engagement rates
  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as, but not limited to, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook), Instagram, and YouTube
  • Develop targeted ad strategies to drive traffic, conversions, and audience engagement
  • Monitor ad performance metrics (e.g., CTR, ROI, impressions) and adjust campaigns to improve outcomes
  • Research and recommend emerging digital advertising trends and tools to enhance outreach and effectiveness
  • Build out and own media buys for various advertising platforms and overseeing the day-to-day execution of paid media
  • Build and maintain a robust digital asset management library of evergreen and tentpole content (toolkits, one-pagers, graphics, etc.) that drives continuous engagement and lead generation
  • Organize and manage content with digital asset management library ensuring it meets brand guidelines
  • Collect and create high-quality content for various marketing channels, including written, visual, and video pieces (emails, blog posts, case studies, ads, web, etc.) and other innovative opportunities to educate, empower, and engage our audience. This includes performing outreach to staff, program alumni, partners, and a myriad of stakeholders to source compelling content
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to ideate and enhance the appearance of creative assets according to brand standards
  • Manage and own editorial and content marketing calendar in collaboration with the Communications Department
  • Proactively prepare reporting dashboards and provide key insights for internal and external stakeholders to inform decision-making and improve future efforts
  • Monitor and study email campaign key performance indicators (KPIs), such as email deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, conversions and ROI
  • Track and analyze digital advertising and website metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies
  • Work with cross-departmental teams and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of marketing efforts across various channels and platforms
  • Develop and manage project timelines, track progress, and address any issues that arise to keep projects on schedule
  • Ability to successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications and digital marketing opportunities, including select crisis situations
  • Working with Communications team to plan, execute, and implement the infrastructure to build an engaging and thriving online community of stakeholders
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge and experience with digital communications, website management, email marketing, and event promotion tools such as WordPress, Eventbrite, Mobilize, and Mailchimp
  • Demonstrated graphic design, photography, and videography skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Final Cut Pro), Canva, and CapCut
  • Experience working with Black and LGBTQOC communities
  • Excellent leadership abilities
