Summary

Join AdvanceLaw, a Mitratech company, as their Director of Client Relations and help in-house legal departments manage their domestic and global outside counsel needs. This role involves advising clients on outside counsel strategies, serving as a trusted advisor on lawyers and legal market trends, and expanding relationships with existing clients. You will partner with clients to understand their needs, identify suitable lawyers, manage client matters across various legal practice areas, and schedule client meetings. The position requires managing law firm interactions, annual client renewal conversations, and articulating the value of AdvanceLaw's panel. This is a remote position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • Account or sales executives within the legal industry, including law firm client relations or marketing team members
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various business units
  • Strategic thinking and tactical execution skills
  • Lawyers/paralegals (2 to 5 years experience) who enjoy client relations more than legal practice (and want to transform the profession)
  • Can build trust, be assertive when required and shows initiative and enthusiasm
  • Team player and positive attitude in a results-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple requests simultaneously
  • BA/BS degree from accredited institution required

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with a client pool of in-house legal departments to assist them with their domestic and global outside counsel needs
  • Advise clients on outside counsel strategies to decrease costs and improve relationships with law firms
  • Serve as a trusted advisor about lawyers within our panel and legal market trends
  • Partner with clients to understand their business and legal needs and identify lawyers within our panel of firms
  • Expand relationships with existing clients and their teams via zoom meetings, email and occasional in-person meetings
  • Manage client matters simultaneously across different legal practice areas within the corporate legal department
  • Schedule client meetings and deliver value with each interaction
  • Manage law firm interactions around individual matters
  • Manage annual client renewal conversations
  • Be able to articulate the value of the AdvanceLaw panel over the traditional approach to engaging AM LAW 200 firms and international Magic Circle firms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in management consulting, business strategy, or legal industry strongly preferred
  • Experience creating content, writing articles/whitepapers a plus
