Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships roles, ideally at high-growth startups or tech-enabled services businesses
- Proven ability to close deals independently — from first call to signature — with a track record of sourcing and winning consumer distribution partnerships
- Established network in fintech, insurtech, benefits, or embedded finance (e.g., relationships with neobanks, employee benefit aggregators, challenger payroll providers, etc.)
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with legal, finance, and compliance stakeholders
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate partnership models that balance growth and sustainability
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, reporting, and data analysis, with the ability to translate data into insight and action
- Comfortable working in a scrappy, fast-paced startup environment where ambiguity is the norm and impact is measured by outcomes
- An all-around team player and fast, self-directed learner who thrives in a collaborative environment and adapts quickly
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — you're as comfortable pitching a C-suite exec as you are digging into integration requirements with a PM
- Willingness to travel for partner meetings, industry events, and team offsites
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close high-impact indirect partnerships that drive user acquisition through fintech and employee benefit platforms
- Own the full BD lifecycle — from sourcing and pitching to negotiating and closing distribution deals
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and marketing to align GTM plans, structure agreements, and ensure successful implementation
- Develop and manage a robust partnership pipeline, with clear prioritization frameworks and forecasting based on market trends
- Deeply understand AKKO’s value proposition and tailor it to the needs of various fintech and benefits players, across direct-to-consumer and B2B2C distribution models
- Represent AKKO externally, attending relevant industry events, building relationships with key decision-makers, and maintaining a visible presence in the fintech and benefits ecosystems
- Drive revenue performance by tracking, reporting on, and consistently exceeding monthly and quarterly revenue targets through strategic partner development, pipeline management, and cross-functional collaboration
