Summary

Join Thoughtworks India as the Director of Business Development (BFSI) and help CXO’s of leading BFSI organizations transform their business using digital, data, and AI technologies. Work closely with business, domain FS, and technology leaders globally and in India. Generate business by acquiring large transformational projects from new logos, focusing on areas like enterprise platform modernization and data platform modernization. Develop relationships with business and IT executives, plan go-to-market strategies, and mentor a team of Business Development Managers. Execute on leads from professional networks and industry events, effectively positioning Thoughtworks' solutions. Connect with executive leadership to understand business priorities and drive consultative sales. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies in the BFSI space.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of experience in the software Industry with experience in the BFSI sector for at least the last 6 years
  • Good connects and relationships at CXO level in BFSI market in India
  • Demonstrable track record of generating deals greater than USD 5 Million
  • A good understanding of the BFSI segment specifically in areas like retail banking, SME banking, Lending, Corporate banking
  • Must have proven capability and experience in shaping up and closing large deals, ability to work independently, capability to establish relationships with CXO-level stakeholders, and the ability to interact and work effectively across all levels of customer organizations
  • Analytical skill set, strong presentation skills, ability to interact with any level within an organization
  • Ability to self-motivate and multi-task and work independently or within a team
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team with a diverse set of people from business, commercial, technology, delivery and domain background

Responsibilities

  • Generate business for Thoughtworks in India by acquiring large transformational projects from new logos
  • The areas of engagement will include enterprise platform modernization, product innovation, data platform modernization, scaling AI platforms and other emerging technologies
  • Develop relationships and leads with business and IT executives at target enterprise clients on an ongoing basis by leveraging your professional network, personal contacts, and through creative networking, partnership, and outbound selling strategies
  • Plan the Go to market strategy for acquiring new customers for Thoughtworks by working closely with Global and India sales and service line leadership, technology organization and the marketing team & create the annual and quarterly plan for acquiring new business aligned with the overall growth strategy of the company
  • Help mentor/build/recruit a team of Business development managers to help execute the go to market plan
  • Execute on leads generated through professional networks, industry events, and ecosystem partnerships
  • Effectively position the full suite of Thoughtworks solutions and offerings to our clients, including global delivery and nearshore capabilities
  • Connect with Executive leadership in the target enterprise clients for understanding their business priorities for transformation
  • Drive consultative sales by influencing and shaping clients' strategic decisions
  • Works with other teams in the Thoughtworks and partner ecosystem ( AWS, GCP, Microsoft, databricks) to build the point of view/ solution for the client
  • Create and own the customer sales narrative, orchestrate deal pursuits, manage and coordinate MSA, SOW, and rate card negotiations, and shape complex consulting and software development agreements & Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline (~3X of target), including qualified opportunities in the BFSI sector, by leveraging direct sales, partnerships, and referrals
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies, trends, and products in the BFSI space

Experience of recruiting/mentoring a sales team will be very useful
