Summary
Join Advantage Forbes Books as their Director of Book Sales & Distribution Partnerships! This remote/flexible, full-time position plays a critical role in supporting authors throughout the publication process. You will focus on product sales (print, ebook, audiobook), inventory management, and distribution partner management, maximizing sales impact. Collaborate with the VP of Publishing Operations to ensure timely fulfillment and build relationships with key distribution partners. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills. This role requires managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and analyzing data to drive sales growth and improve distribution efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Distribute our titles into a myriad of markets, expanding our sales partnerships across all product types, all channels, and all appropriate geographies
- Collaborate with the CPO to determine the optimal distribution strategy for our titles, negotiate contracts with distribution partners, and manage any required transitions to ensure seamless operations
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with members about the need for reprints, binding conversions, and inventory reduction
- Own reprints process for all books
- Collaborate with the production and design teams on revision projects, and own this process when it applies to a reprint or binding conversion
- Run reports and analyze data as needed
- Monitor metadata to ensure the most accurate information is available
- Update metadata when books come off press
- Work with Book Marketing to ensure all needed information is updated
- Reach out to B&N Stores to ensure authorβs book is in their local market
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years experience in a publishing/content retailing environment
- Advanced skills in selling, negotiating, managing details
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a highly innovative environment
- Manage multiple projects at different stages, while meeting deadlines and quality standards
- Ability to handle changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Desire to meaningfully contribute to the success of a growing organization
- Aggressive, energetic work ethic
- Knowledge of printing, paper, binding, and physical packaging options; experience working with printers a plus
- Knowledge of sales and distribution services, standard rates, and best practices for managing US retailers
