Summary
Join OGC, a boutique research and consulting agency, as their Director of Business Development! This full-time, remote position (East Coast hours) focuses on generating new business opportunities. You will lead the sales process, from prospecting to contract negotiation, building relationships with senior-level decision-makers. Your expertise in consultative selling and market trends will be crucial in proposing tailored solutions. You'll be responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue targets by securing six-figure deals. This role requires strong industry connections, strategic thinking, and a client-centric approach. Success hinges on your ability to build trust, collaborate effectively, and manage stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in business development, preferably in a consulting, marketing, or research-driven environment
- Proven success in generating 6-figure-dollar engagements, particularly with new clients or new business segments
- Strong knowledge of consultative selling, stakeholder management, and contract negotiation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with senior executives, procurement teams, and legal partners
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to the growth of a dynamic, high-performing team
Responsibilities
- Lead the sales process from prospecting through to contract negotiation, ensuring each stage is aligned with OGCβs high standards of service
- Cultivate long-term partnerships with senior-level decision-makers, developing a deep understanding of their business challenges and helping them solve complex problems
- Bring your expertise in consumer behavior, market trends, and business strategy to propose tailored solutions that address client needs
- Use a consultative approach to guide clients in achieving their goals, whether through custom engagements or OGCβs suite of innovative solutions
- Consistently meet and exceed annual revenue targets by securing six-figure-dollar deals with new clients and expanding existing accounts
- Identify and pursue high-potential opportunities across diverse industries
- Engage with clients, procurement teams, and legal departments to ensure smooth negotiations and the successful closure of contracts
- Build trust with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to service delivery
- Work closely with colleagues across OGC to own, project manage, and deliver strategic proposals, leveraging the expertise of the team
- Regular updates to Hubspot, forecasting processes and reporting
