Requirements

  • Managed a team of 30+ people for web application development at product-centric, customer-obsessed companies, and you have significant remote management experience
  • A history of insisting on the highest standards, hiring bar raisers, coaching managers and engineers to be outcome driven with a customer mindset, and effectively dealing with underperformance
  • Willing and able to dive deep, acting as a head of the engineering team as well as a tech lead and scrum master whenever necessary, ultimately ensuring that decisions are made quickly and effectively at every level
  • Have had experience at B2B companies working closely with enterprise customers and have developed excellent communication skills
  • Have previously established a technical strategy and roadmap by developing a deep understanding of tech debt and aligning with engineers, product managers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to gather product & business requirements and align and motivate engineers to work towards clear goals. Proven track record establishing and driving technical advances, reducing tech debt and aligning teams around customers

Responsibilities

  • Fostering and championing a customer-obsessed team culture that embraces ownership, trust, and collaboration
  • Ensuring your teams are consistently delivering against their roadmaps and achieving the goals and outcomes they have committed to
  • Establishing a high bar for your team, ensuring best practices are followed, and delivering consistent, constructive feedback to help your engineers and managers learn and grow
  • Take ownership of the technical and organizational strategy for the engineering department and aligning it with product leadership to plan out the team’s quarterly roadmaps and goals
  • Identifying and implementing best practices to improve our team culture, product development process and overall development experience

Experience with some parts of our tech stack: NodeJS, React, Typescript, Python, GraphQL, Django, Database: PostgreSQL (Google Cloud SQL), Redis, Google Cloud Datastore, Infrastructure/Systems: Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine, Auth0, Datadog
