Summary

The job is for an Engineering Manager at Foothold Technology, a healthcare technology company that empowers over 1000 human services agencies. The ideal candidate should have experience in web-based enterprise SaaS, data warehousing, AI/ML, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, in web-based enterprise SaaS
• 4+ years of experience as a customer-centric Director of Engineering, leading software engineers, data engineers, test automation engineers/QA, SREs/DevOps engineers
• 8+ years of experience in Javascript, Typescript or Ruby on Rails
• Excellent interpersonal skills (empathy, confidence, conflict resolution)
• Extremely strong communication and writing skills

• Evolve Engineering Values: Foster a culture of autonomy, mastery, and purpose
• Retaining Top Talent: Manage the engineering team, coach and develop folks with high potential, reward and challenge high performers
• Recruiting: Lead the hiring process for Engineering roles
• Engineering org structure: Identify key roles crucial for success, make a business case and execute on them
• Security: Work closely with Security leads and VP, P&E to ensure security risks are managed
• Trust & Site Reliability: Ensure site reliability and trust by establishing SLOs and using SLIs
• Technology & Architectural Roadmap: Work closely with VP, Product & Engineering to establish and socialize the technology and architectural roadmap
• Lead by example and getting your hands dirty: Have mastery of key elements of tech stack and infrastructure and be able to pair with engineers
• Agile and Lean: Help teams mature in process best practices, ensuring consistency across teams for execution predictability and strategic forecasting
• OKRs and KPIs: Play a critical role in establishing and ensuring success of OKRs, while ensuring accountability of our KPIs
• CI/CD: Guide engineering teams through optimal branching models helping them achieve Continuous delivery and zero-downtime releases
• Test & Infrastructure Automation: Oversee Quality Assurance for all Products, most of which is automated with varying levels of coverage
