Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a clear strategic vision for the product engineering department, aligning team efforts with the company’s product goals and customer needs
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of a technical roadmap, ensuring projects are prioritized based on impact and alignment with business objectives
  • Directly manage a team of 20 engineers and 1-2 EMs, fostering an environment of high autonomy and ownership
  • Focus on recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top-tier engineering talent, creating growth opportunities that align with individual career aspirations and the company’s objectives
  • Lead cross-functional projects that require coordination between engineering, product, design, and other departments
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration, driving projects to successful completion with a focus on delivering customer value
  • Design and implement efficient systems and processes to manage consistent product delivery and high performance across the engineering team
  • Use these systems not for perfection but as tools to achieve great outcomes, focusing on adaptability and continuous improvement
  • Advocate for necessary technical work that supports the product’s growth and stability, balancing this with the need to continuously deliver customer value
  • Make decisive, informed decisions in ambiguous situations, guiding the team through technical challenges and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals
