Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in finance, audit, or accounting roles, with initial experience at a large accounting firm preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary financial and management accounting principles, tools, and platforms
  • Proven experience leading financial and administrative functions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software, with the ability to identify and implement new technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience managing and mentoring teams
  • Strong alignment with Diva’s brand values and mission

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support Diva’s growth and operational goals
  • Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to the President and leadership team to support informed decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and tax requirements, including audits, tax filings, sales tax in Canada and US, and corporate governance
  • Ensure financial strategies support sustainability initiatives and ethical business practices in line with Diva's mission
  • Prepare, update, and monitor regular cash flow reporting and cash requirements for the organization. Manage outflows accordingly
  • Implement and leverage advanced financial management practices and tools to optimize business operations
  • Drive continuous process improvements, including the automation of financial workflows and systems
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, assess investment opportunities, and support strategic initiatives
  • Define and track KPIs for financial health, operational efficiency, and team performance
  • Supervise team to ensure accurate and efficient management of bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts
  • Oversee IT operations and infrastructure, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technology supports business growth and operational needs
  • Identify and implement administrative best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners to ensure alignment and compliance
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring and developing finance and IT team members
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term strategic planning and organizational development initiatives
  • Lead change management initiatives to support Diva's evolution and scalability
