Summary

Join Woolf, a globally distributed company, as the Director of Operations and drive operational effectiveness for our next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work Pacific Timezone hours and play a crucial role in supporting various functions within the CEO Office. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and detailed operational work, supporting team members and filling gaps. Initially based in the CEO Office, this position may transition into a new business division after a year. Requirements

  • Have a finance background (CFA, CPA)
  • Have an operational focus and a record of effective, organized project delivery
  • Be able to work in a tech start up, balancing focus, follow-through, and reprioritizations
  • Be high energy, high throughput, high IQ, and highly organized with a thorough attention to detail. Prefer simplicity over complexity where ever possible, but see the details
  • Be able to move up and down the ladder from strategic planning, to project management, to detailed IC work in order to support team members or fill in gaps
  • Have CFA, CPA, or similar finance background
  • Have experience working in an early-stage startup, focussed on operations
  • Have 8+ years of strategy/operations experience, preferably in high-growth tech companies
  • Have 5+ years managing global teams
  • Have experience with project management driving prioritization based on business needs
  • Have experience in data analysis and interpretation
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have enthusiasm and a positive attitude – be a culture bearer for the company
  • Be high-energy, competitive, and hardworking
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and deliverables
  • Be able to learn and adapt quickly in an ambiguous environment

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO to run or support functions currently handled by the CEO Office (Finance, HR, Key Business Initiatives, Legal, Brand, ELT)
  • Work directly with the ELT and cross-functionally with other relevant stakeholders to build out an efficient and effective operations department that can ensure the success of our fast-growing business
  • Drive outcomes across various emerging special projects while we prepare for the A round
  • Help other teams to be more effective by supporting good processes on projects and prioritization
  • Gain a deep understanding of the business and oversee the monthly revenue operations (AR/AP) and financial close process
  • Help ensure that the company makes strategic, data-driven decisions
  • Support the transition of the business from rev share to pure SaaS
  • Own state-level compliance, payroll, and HR compliance – all in Rippling
  • Hire a consultant for SHRM compliance stuff
  • Audit and support the design of key business processes and workflows – the external customer journey and the internal teams's processes
