Summary

Join Seqera's Professional Services team as a leader, shaping the future of their services business. Collaborate with the Chief Customer Officer and CX leadership team to define strategic vision. Lead a team of Solution Delivery Managers and Technical Architects, and coordinate with bioinformaticians. This player-coach role requires hands-on involvement in service delivery, customer engagement, and sales. Develop and improve PS methodology and pre-sales processes, including creating implementation playbooks and sales materials. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical acumen, Life Sciences domain knowledge, and experience with Pharma and Biotech organizations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of client-facing software implementation experience, with demonstrated success managing complex technical enterprise software projects
  • 3+ years of experience managing a Professional Services team, with a proven ability to lead and grow teams with diverse skillsets from project management, to technical and scientific domain experts
  • Hands-on experience with Life Sciences R&D processes, ideally including working directly with bioinformaticians as users
  • Comfortable operating as a player-coach, balancing team leadership with hands-on contribution in delivery and customer engagement
  • Experienced in matrixed team leadership, including managing delivery through cross-functional resources outside of direct reporting lines
  • Experience in services sales, including proposal development, SOW creation, client negotiations, and Change Orders
  • Independent, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation formats

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Collaborate with the CX leadership team to formulate and execute a strategic vision for Seqera's Professional Services
  • Team Leadership: Provide hands-on leadership for our Solution Delivery Managers and Technical Architects
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with our Scientific Development team, as well as Sales, Product Management and Engineering, to ensure seamless and high-quality customer delivery
  • Methodology and Process Design: Partner with CX and Sales leadership to create and refine our services and pre-sales methodologies and tools, ensuring adherence to best practices throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Project Management: Oversee project deliverables, timelines, and budgets to ensure alignment with customer expectations. Act as the primary escalation point for resolving delivery challenges. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and engage directly in customer and program management
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with Sales and CX teams to develop pre-sales assets, SOWs, and proposals. Actively participate in sales opportunities to position services and ensure project scope aligns with customer needs
  • Operational Oversight: Manage key operational aspects including staffing, cross-team utilization, project risks, and financial performance
