Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a CPA
- 10+ years of experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with financial software systems (Netsuite) and advanced proficiency in Excel
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and other relevant standards in all revenue accounting activities
- Evaluate, interpret, and document complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatments
- Develop, implement, and maintain revenue accounting policies, processes, and controls
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue, billing, and collections including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of revenue-related reports, including deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, accounts receivable and other key revenue accounts
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing revenue accounting, billing and collections team, providing guidance on complex revenue accounting issues and ensuring a collaborative, growth-oriented environment
- Develop and maintain training programs to support the team’s understanding and execution of policies and controls
- Drive process improvements to optimize revenue accounting and billing workflows, enhance accuracy, and improve close cycle efficiency
- Ensure accurate system configurations of revenue accounting modules within the company’s ERP system
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Go-To-Market Operations teams to integrate revenue recognition considerations into contract structuring and billing practices
- Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue accounting in external and internal audits, providing schedules, documentation, and addressing inquiries
- Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue recognition and billing activities
