Summary

Join SonderMind as the Director of Revenue Operations, a key leadership role responsible for the strategic direction and operational execution of the entire revenue cycle. You will oversee all aspects of revenue generation, from patient access and registration to billing, coding, and collections. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence. You will develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue, minimize denials, improve cash flow, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves leading a talented team, collaborating with senior leadership, and utilizing data and technology to enhance financial performance and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and optimizing revenue cycle operations
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, payor regulations, and healthcare finance
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using EHR and practice management systems
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans that align revenue cycle performance with company goals
  • Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, from patient access and billing to collections and denials management
  • Track key performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer guidelines
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using best practices and methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma
  • Leverage data to uncover trends, guide decisions, and communicate performance to senior leadership
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and growth
  • Manage payer relationships, resolve complex issues, and analyze reimbursement trends
  • Optimize our use of EHR and practice management systems, and recommend new tools to drive efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in revenue cycle management (e.g., CRCR, CPCO) is highly desirable
