Join Megaport as the Director of Solution Architects and lead a team of distributed Solutions Architects across North American markets. You will drive technical solutions with senior management, support customer network infrastructure, and lead solution sales. Responsibilities include overseeing a team of Solutions Architects, contributing to regional sales motions, developing KPIs, supporting sales opportunities through demonstrations, understanding and articulating customer requirements, developing network solution architecture designs, and developing industry content. You will also need to develop in-depth knowledge of Megaport's offerings and partner products, and engage with various channels and partners. This role is key to driving long-term growth and success for the Megaport platform. The position requires strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills, along with leadership experience in managing technical solution sellers. The ideal candidate will possess strong presentation and communication skills and a willingness to travel.
Requirements
- Highly technical, analytical, and personable, possess 7+ years of current Solutions Architecture (implementation/consulting) or Sales Engineering experience. Areas of focus can include: Networking Background in Telecommunications, Data Center and Public Cloud verticals
- Hold 3+ years in leadership roles, managing direct technical solution sellers in Sales Engineering and/or Solution Architecture environments
- Strong customer presentation and public speaking capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Must work successfully in a remote, globally distributed work environment
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 30% of the time
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of Solutions Architects (SA’s) providing presales support in the sales cycle by analyzing, coaching and training a distributed workforce towards partner and customer requirements
- Contributing to the regional sales motions, including planning and execution of strategies that support internal and external customer needs and requirements
- Developing KPI’s for a team of SA’s to action upon, including rating and reporting to ensure appropriate results on internal and external targets
- Support sales opportunities for Megaport by creating and delivering demonstrations to customers and cloud sales partners. Content will include product education and presentations for use by Direct and Channel Sales Teams, specifically as it pertains to integration with our cloud partners product sets
- Ability to understand and articulate partner and customer business requirements, developing corresponding network solution architecture designs that leverage Megaport and partner services
- Develop industry content key performance indicators for the SA team to generate customer case studies, info papers, knowledge base articles for service deployment, and competitive intelligence
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Megaport’s product and service offerings, competitive positioning, and the products of our key cloud services partners we enable access to including Azure, AWS, Google, IBM, Oracle, etc. Provide on-going knowledge-transfer to the Sales, Technical Support, and Marketing teams as well as to our authorized sales partners
- Learn and strategically translate in-depth knowledge of industry trends
- Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of Megaport’s software, API, and be able to engage in technical discussions with our customers, prospects, and prospective partners
- Engage and develop tech seller alignment with other Agent Channels, SI, ISV, and cloud partners as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing or deploying cloud/virtualization networking solutions in enterprise customer environments is highly desired
- Strong Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 Networking design practices
- Internet infrastructure, computer science, or a cloud computing background is highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and engineering technologies are highly desired
