Summary
Join Raintree as the Director of User Experience and lead the UX/UI design strategy for our healthcare SaaS products. This fully remote position (in designated states) requires 8+ years of UX/UI experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably within the healthcare or SaaS sectors. You will define design principles, conduct user research, and ensure designs are implemented effectively. Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally in the SaaS or healthcare technology space
- Proven track record of leading and delivering complex research and SaaS design projects, from concept to launch, with a focus on user-centered design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX/UI design, showcasing the ability to design intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences
- Deep understanding of UX principles, user-centered design methodologies, interaction design, and information architecture
- Expertise in design tools such as Figma
- Strong proficiency in wireframing, prototyping, and visual design
- Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate customer needs into actionable product strategies that align with company objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelorβs degree
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the UX/UI design vision, strategy, and execution for the company's Healthcare SaaS products
- Develop user-centered design principles that ensure seamless, efficient, and intuitive experiences for healthcare providers, administrators, and patients
- Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers and researchers, fostering a culture of data-driven design, innovation, collaboration, and high-quality design output
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to align design efforts with product goals and business priorities
- Advocate for the importance of user-centered design across the organization and ensure that research and design are consistently at the start of the lifecycle and embedded in the full PDLC to deliver products that people love
- Create frameworks and optimize processes in partnership with product operations and other stakeholders to support embedded research and design the stages of the PDLC
- Conduct and lead teams in user research, interviews, and usability testing to gain deep insights into the needs and pain points of healthcare professionals, staff and patients
- Analyze user feedback and data to iterate on designs and improve usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction
- Use data-driven insights to inform design decisions and continually optimize the user experience
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system that ensures consistency across the platform and supports scalability as the product grows
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that communicate user flows, interactions, and design specifications to developers
- Establish and refine design processes that allow for efficient collaboration, iteration, and delivery of high-quality design work
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to define product requirements and create seamless end-to-end user experiences
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet usability standards
- Be an active participant in product roadmap discussions, contributing design insights and advocating for user-centered approaches
- Stay current with the latest UX/UI design trends, research techniques, best practices, and technologies, particularly in healthcare and SaaS domains
- Bring fresh ideas and innovative design solutions to solve complex problems and improve the healthcare user experience
- Participate in onsite observations, market research activities, tradeshow and other events to to translate this feedback into product requirements and intel
- Be involved and aware of major milestones for each product initiative with the ability to identify potential risks before they happen and guide the team on mitigation
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare SaaS with familiarity with healthcare IT systems such as EHR/EMR, patient portals, or clinical workflows
- Experience working in or designing for the healthcare industry
