Requirements
- Has at least 8 years of paid ads and affiliate marketing experience for an established SaaS brand
- Has 3 years experience leading a team at the Senior Manager or Director level
- Possesses deep knowledge and understanding of the SaaS marketing industry, key SaaS metrics, and the nuances that go into building successful paid ads and affiliate/partnership programs
- Can think critically, with a proven track record of ROI driven Performance Marketing results
- Has a love for data and embraces a growth mindset—you are metrics driven and can draw insights through analysis of program data in order to build a strategy for growth based on key opportunities
- Has technical expertise—you are an expert in managing a variety of paid ads channels ($500K+/mo ad budgets) and affiliates/partnership marketing programs, with a deep understanding of the tools and technical infrastructure that go with it. You don’t shy away from technical challenges and are able to deep dive across tools to find information and optimize processes to support the team
- Shows an aptitude and willingness to teach and help others—you’ll be trusted to provide guidance not only to your direct rapports, but also to the marketing team as a whole and often to team members in other departments
- Loves to learn and grow. You’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up your skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze relevant data to evaluate channel effectiveness in terms of growing pipeline and ROI, making ongoing optimization recommendations
- Outline monthly, quarterly, and annual targets, and build detailed work plans in order to achieve consistent program growth
- Lead, grow, and coach the digital ads and affiliates team
- Build and maintain valuable relationships with our key media vendors and top performing partners, to improve ROI and continuously grow our paid ads and affiliates/partnerships channels
- Stay current with industry trends and competitor activities, to identify areas of market opportunity and procedural improvement to grow our Performance Marketing programs
- Work cross-functionally with teams including: the Web team (provide recommendations for landing page or sign-up flow tests), Product Marketing team (ensuring latest product updates are being communicated via paid ads and affiliate/partnership channels), SEO team (ensuring key terms are being reflected in affiliate content and SEM tactics), and the Data team (opportunities to improve our reporting/analysis)
- Program budgets for both paid ads and affiliates/partnerships will be managed and determined by you via forecasting, based on ROI goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Data tools such as Mixpanel and Looker
- Negotiation skills when dealing with partner contracts and vendor contracts
- Have previous experience nurturing relationships with new and existing paid ads vendors and affiliate partners
- Experience running influencer marketing, referral marketing (referral loops), or strategic technology partnership initiatives
- Experience with landing page platforms such as Prismic, Unbounce, or Wordpress
- Have an understanding of APIs, integrations for tracking paid ads and partner attribution
