Summary
Join World Insurance Associates as a Division Placement Leader in Commercial Lines! Reporting to the Division Leader, you will lead and coordinate placement activities for new and renewal business. This key role requires strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with clients and carriers. You'll need at least 10 years of industry experience and 5 years leading teams. A deep understanding of the insurance marketplace and various coverage types is essential. You will develop and implement placement strategies, manage a team, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This is a leadership position requiring strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to World's values.
Requirements
- Be knowledgeable of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding arrangements, underwriting, and legislative changes
- Demonstrate/proven ability to build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and fellow World associates
- Have a minimum of 10 years industry experience in risk management and insurance brokerage placement, underwriting, and carrier relationship management (or a combination)
- Have a minimum of 5 years leading high-performing, successful teams setting goals, driving accountability and measuring / rewarding performance
- Have a complete understanding of a national insurance broker’s sales, service, and placement platforms
- Have broad and diverse knowledge of the global insurance industry marketplace including: Middle market and large account segments, All property and casualty products, Excess and Surplus Lines marketplace and how to access, London and Bermuda market facilities
- Have knowledge of Property and Casualty program designs including guaranteed cost/first dollar, deductible/retention structures, quota share & layered property programs, liability towers, risk management, and alternative risk
- 4-year college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional designation
Responsibilities
- Develop and articulate a comprehensive understanding of World’s scope of expertise, structure, distribution strategy, and value proposition
- Coordinate placement strategy with World Client Advisers and Account Executives to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients
- Lead a competitive coverage placement process and demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve appropriate cost, coverage, and capacity targets for clients and prospective clients
- Maintain productive and responsive relationships with underwriting managers, practice leaders, and business development managers of World’s key Trading Partners
- Participate as requested in client and prospective client introductory, strategic, planning, and proposal meetings, and represent World in a professional and responsive manner
- Promote utilization of strategic Trading Partners critical to maintaining secure and dependable relationships for World to generate optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients
- Collaborate with National Placement resources as necessary to ensure client’s and prospective client’s coverage needs are comprehensively addressed
- Manage the business model in accordance with corporate KPIs
- Exhibit strong leadership capacity in training, developing, supervising, and appraising associates to ensure they experience a productive and fulfilling career path at World
- Productively and with clear vision, lead a team of diverse placement professionals who possess varying levels of expertise and skill in distant locations to achieve defined goals and objectives
- Serve as primary internal source of information concerning market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies
- Assist in developing Placement Practice policies and procedures to support our commitment to continuous improvement
- Maintain focus on World-authorized workflow and standard operating procedures to support the delivery of a consistent service model across the World enterprise
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance designation such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM
- Licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer in resident state
- Project/process management discipline and follow-through
- Compelling deductive reasoning skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Substantial inter-personal skills and associate engagement expertise

- Proficient in all Microsoft office products including Mid-level expertise with excel
