Join Hydrow as an eCommerce QA Engineer to contribute to the quality testing of our innovative headless eCommerce platform. You will collaborate with various teams to implement effective testing strategies, ensuring high-quality releases and a seamless customer experience. This role is crucial in transitioning our testing approach from manual to automation-driven, introducing modern frameworks and best practices. You will play a key role in improving our testing processes, identifying critical issues, and driving automation efforts. Requirements
- Professional experience in manual and test automation for eCommerce web applications (3+ years minimum)
- Strong experience executing manual test plans, identifying edge cases, and ensuring comprehensive feature validation
- Familiarity with modern automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
- Knowledge of unit, integration, contract, and E2E testing best practices
- Familiarity with web performance testing (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, SiteSpeed.io )
- Understanding of cross-browser/device testing methodologies
- Understanding of software development lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity with Hydrow’s eCommerce platform by running and validating existing manual test cases, ensuring thorough understanding of current coverage
- Work with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to review testing priorities, current QA workflows, critical purchase flows and site interactions
- Collaborate with engineers to align expectations around test strategy, coverage and potential automation opportunities
- Execute manual test strategies as part of our delivery process, generating feedback across functional areas of the site and new feature development
- Identify critical edge cases and uncovered scenarios, improving existing manual testing documentation and execution processes
- Begin evaluating automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) based on Hydrow’s architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and development workflows
- Identify high-value test cases for early automation efforts, starting with checkout, payment validation, and order processing
- Continue to execute manual test strategies, while drive continuous innovation in automation, migrating and expanding automated test coverage
- Take ownership of test automation infrastructure, ensuring stability, efficiency and maintainability
- Develop test data management strategies, ensuring reliability across tests
- Advocate for collaborative test authoring–empowering engineers to integrate testing seamlessly into development
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate with developers to integrate test automation into the SDLC while maintaining strong manual validation where needed
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar
- Hands-on experience with Next.js , React, TypeScript, and API testing
- Experience with feature flag testing, canary deployments, and A/B test validation
- Experience in synthetic monitoring and observability tools
- Understanding of automated regression testing and rollback strategies in CI/CD pipelines
