Summary

The job is for an Engineering Manager position at Airbyte, a remote-friendly data integration company. The role involves managing the Destinations Team to solve product and technical challenges related to data movement. The team is responsible for loading data into various destinations such as files, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering leadership as an Engineering Manager, Technical Product Manager, Tech Lead, or similar role in which you had direct responsibility for a team or program , and the people on that team
• Deep knowledge of the ‘L’ of the ELT
• Familiarity with Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, or Bigquery) and/or Data Lakes
• 2+ years of Java/Kotlin experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain the team’s backlog, keep projects on track, and define the right interfaces for handling interrupts from support, sales, and high-value customers
• Support, Grow and Manage the engineers on the team (3-6 people)
• Shape the long-term roadmap for the team. Work with product managers, stakeholders, vendors, and partners to decide what to build next and why
• Improve the quantity and quality of Airbyte’s connectors by building new developer tools and frameworks for ourselves and partners to use
• Drive step function improvements in performance & reliability at scale
• Build leverage: a week-long task this year should take ten minutes next year
