Join Lyft's Help Access Experience team as an Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting the technical vision and strategy for improving customer support experiences. You will guide the professional and technical development of your team members, ensuring high-quality, scalable product delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to prioritize tasks and achieve short-term and long-term goals. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, experience managing engineering teams, and a passion for building impactful solutions. Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or relevant work experience
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally with experience in both platform engineering and product engineering
- Passion for building scalable and extensible solutions that enable others and ensure a high-quality product
- Experience launching and supporting consumer-facing products
- Ability to thrive in a heavily cross-functional environment and drive projects to completion regardless of the organizational structure
Responsibilities
- Set the technical vision and strategy for the Help Access Experience
- Lead a team of talented engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems. Maintain a balance between building sustainable, high-impact projects and shipping things quickly
- Coach and guide the professional and technical development of your team members. Help develop their careers, and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the teamβs code, architecture, and processes
- Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate closely with your engineers, leadership and cross-functional partners (e.g. product, science, design, marketing, legal, operations, policy and others) to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long term goals
- Own your teamβs deliverables and ensure we continue to ship scalable, highly-available products that delight our passengers and drivers
