Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience, ideally in a fast-growing, product-driven environment
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities across stakeholders
- System Design: Proven experience in designing and architecting complex systems
- Product Focus: A strong focus on product development
- A track record of mentoring and growing software engineers
- Experience balancing long-term architecture design with the need for rapid iteration and experimentation
Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor the Engineering Team – Foster a high-performance culture, support career growth, and remove roadblocks
- Define and Execute the Technical Roadmap – Collaborate with the CTO, Product, and Design teams to align technical efforts with business goals
- Ensure Strong Engineering Practices – Maintain high standards in system design, scalability, testing, and code quality
- Balance Speed, Quality, and Scalability – Make smart architectural and technical decisions while enabling rapid iteration
- Drive Product and Business Impact – Deliver high-quality products that support Ukio’s expansion and align with company objectives
- Encourage Cross-Functional Collaboration – Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure smooth execution of projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Elixir, Phoenix and LiveView
- Experience across the stack (backend and frontend)
