Summary

Join Hike, a revolutionary gaming and tech company, as their Chief Story Officer and transform the founder's ideas into engaging social media content. You will create thumb-stopping videos, carousels, threads, shorts, and reels for platforms like X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. The role involves building a community of builders, operators, and dreamers, focusing on crafting culture rather than just vanity metrics. You will be responsible for planning, scripting, shooting, designing, editing, and publishing content daily, aiming for viral success. This position requires a deep understanding of social media algorithms, data analysis, and strategic authenticity, along with exceptional creative and communication skills. You will collaborate with various teams and codify best practices for future teams.

Requirements

  • You live on social platforms: all of them. Your screen time is market research. You know why that short blew up, which LinkedIn carousel converts, and how X’s algo loves replies
  • You create like you breathe. Midjourney prompts, Veo3 cuts, Premiere timelines, Figma frames - these are your playgrounds. You can turn raw ideas into studio-quality assets overnight
  • You’re a full-stack storyteller. Hooks, jump-cuts, B-roll, captions, carousels, thumbnails. You orchestrate every touchpoint for maximum “Hold up, I need to share this.”
  • You speak the language of algorithms. Optimal video length on Reels vs. Shorts? Best day to drop a thought-leader thread? You’ve A/B tested it
  • You’re already a mini-creator. Maybe 5K followers, maybe 50K, but you’ve built an audience from scratch and know the grind behind each subscriber
  • You edit at the speed of memes. Cultural moments are perishable; you move from idea → asset → post before they expire
  • You love data as much as design. CTR, retention graphs, follower velocity. Your creative gut is backed by ruthless analytics
  • You collaborate without ego. You’ll literally place words and cuts in our founder’s mouth. Feedback like “spicier hook” or “trim 3 seconds” makes your work sharper, not personal
  • Your communication is pure signal. Three-bullet updates, loom walk-throughs under 60 seconds, dashboards that self-explain. Respect people’s time, earn their attention
  • You understand strategic authenticity. Founders aren’t influencers; they’re mission carriers. You know when to share a meditation routine and when to drop a market insight

Responsibilities

  • Transform moments into multi-format magic. Sit in on founder meetings, extract the gold, and spin out: 1 flagship video, 3 shorts, 5 tweets, 2 carousels, and a BTS story
  • Own the cross-platform content machine. Plan, script, shoot, design, edit, publish. Daily output is baseline; viral outliers are the goal
  • Growth-hack with craft. Experiment with hooks, cuts, captions, posting cadence. Chase reach without sacrificing resonance
  • Master the founder’s voice & vibe. Understand their cadence, humor, and non-negotiables so deeply they’ll wonder if you’re reading their mind
  • Engineer breakout moments weekly. A disruptive chart, a cinematic reel, a contrarian hot-take. Whatever ignites conversation among builders and VCs
  • Engage like a human. Reply, DM, stitch, and collab. Relationships > reach
  • Dashboard what matters. Build and maintain trackers for true impact: follower quality, watch-time, lead-gen signals, community growth
  • Bridge every team. Sync with design for motion graphics, product for insights, marketing for campaigns. Your canvas spans the whole company
  • Reverse-engineer the masters. Deconstruct @MrBeast’s retention tactics, @pmarca’s idea density, @aliabdaal’s course launches. Get inspired, adapt faster
  • Codify the playbook. Document templates, prompt libraries, editing presets, posting cadences, and analytic benchmarks so future teams level-up from day one
