Geospatial Data Analyst

Summary

Join Wing, a Google company, as a Geospatial Data Analyst on our Flight Operations Geospatial team! This remote US-based role is crucial to our drone delivery system. You will scope geospatial data needs, work with vendors for data collection, perform quality assurance, analyze data, provide feasibility recommendations, input data into our system, and collaborate with internal teams. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working directly with geospatial data
• BA/BS degree in Geographical Information Science or Systems, Remote Sensing, other relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong working knowledge of geospatial data collection methods and their related benefits and limitations
• Proficiency with industry GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, gdal/ogr, etc
• Experience with front-end development including JavaScript and TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Scope geospatial data collection needs in specific operational areas of interest for both current and future Wing flight operations
• Work with external vendors to collect geospatial data in assigned operational regions
• Remotely perform initial and ongoing quality assurance tasks of geospatial data
• Perform analysis as assigned on multi-source geospatial data
• Provide recommendations on feasibility of data to be used within Wing’s operational system
• Input collected geospatial data into Wing’s geospatial data management system
• Collaborate within the geospatial team on processes, procedures, and required data for new flight operations areas
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accuracy of Wing’s world model
