Summary

Join Platform Science as a Global Account Manager (GAM) to manage a $10-$15 million annual revenue portfolio of global accounts. You will serve as the primary strategic partner for existing customers, deeply understanding their business objectives and ensuring their success with Platform Science solutions. This critical role demands strong strategic thinking, exceptional relationship-building skills, and an understanding of the complex technology environment. Responsibilities include developing strategic account plans, managing executive relationships, handling contract renewals, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing accurate revenue forecasts. Success will be measured by customer retention, CSAT/NPS scores, and forecasting accuracy. The GAM will also provide bi-monthly reports on relationship health, client needs, and market trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Technology, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic account management, global account management, preferably within the technology or SaaS sector
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing multi-million dollar global client portfolios (e.g., experience managing accounts of $5 million+ annually, with direct experience in the $10M+ range being highly desirable)
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic account plans for large, complex, and globally dispersed enterprise clients, particularly within the transportation, logistics, or related industries
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating and building strong, influential relationships with C-suite executives and key decision-makers in global organizations

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and iterate on comprehensive strategic account plans for each assigned global account
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to proactively identify and pursue improvements in the Platform Science/Customer relationship
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, influential, and enduring relationships with C-suite executives and key senior decision-makers within client organizations
  • Act as the primary senior liaison and trusted advisor for these global accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty
  • Own and drive all aspects of contract renewals, mobilizing any and all resources across the organization to achieve this, and ensuring terms that are both profitable for Platform Science and beneficial for long-term client partnerships
  • Effectively lead and coordinate virtual, cross-functional global teams—including product specialists, service delivery, and marketing—to ensure cohesive account strategy execution and the delivery of superior client value
  • Serve as a critical voice of the customer, communicating client needs and market feedback to internal product, engineering, and leadership teams to help shape Platform Science’s customer interaction, offerings, and strategy
  • Provide accurate and timely revenue forecasts, maintain a robust sales pipeline, and deliver regular, insightful progress reports to senior leadership
  • Proactively monitor account health, identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure account retention
  • Successfully manage, retain, and strengthen relationships within a named global account portfolio valued at $10-$15 million in annual revenue
  • Maintain a high customer retention rate (e.g., >95% logo or revenue retention) and proactively work to minimize churn within the portfolio
  • Consistently achieve high Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) / Net Promoter Scores (NPS) from assigned global accounts
  • Demonstrate accurate forecasting (e.g., +/- 10% predictability on a quarterly and annual basis)
  • GAM shall provide bi-monthly reports focusing on their mission requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA) or an equivalent advanced degree is advantageous
  • Direct experience in the transportation, logistics, telematics, or supply chain technology sector is highly preferred
  • Formalized sales methodology training (e.g., Miller Heiman, Challenger Sale, MEDDIC, TAS)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce
  • Fluency in additional languages is a strong asset for this global role
  • Exceptional ability to develop and implement long-term strategic account plans; strong analytical skills to assess client needs, market dynamics, and financial performance
  • Outstanding C-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to articulate complex technology solutions and value propositions persuasively
  • Mastery in high-stakes negotiation and closing expansion and renewal deals involving complex terms and significant value
  • Proven ability to build deep, trust-based relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience in leading and motivating virtual or matrixed global teams; excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Solid understanding of financial metrics, P&L implications, and value-based selling; ability to build compelling business cases
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven individual with a strong sense of urgency and a relentless focus on exceeding targets
  • Deep understanding of the transportation and logistics industry, including key trends, challenges, and opportunities for technology solutions
  • Ability to quickly learn and articulate the value of Platform Science's technology platform and solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate account risks effectively
