Summary

Join KatRisk, a leading catastrophe risk modeling solutions provider, as their Head of IT. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of KatRisk's IT infrastructure and systems, leading the transition to cloud-based solutions. You will manage internal IT systems, oversee IT operations, and ensure robust IT security. This position requires 5+ years of IT team leadership experience in a software or technology-driven environment and proven experience in cloud migration projects and enterprise applications. The role is remote.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT team leadership experience in a software or technology-driven environment
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud migration projects, and enterprise applications
  • Deep understanding of macOS and enterprise SaaS tools (e.g., GSuite, Box, Zoom, Jira, HubSpot, Slack), and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing VPN infrastructure across multiple locations
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and expertise in IT operations processes
  • Demonstrated ability to scale IT systems for fast-growing organizations
  • Experience with SOC 2 compliance and implementing security policies and conducting penetration testing and vulnerability management
  • Hands-on experience with IT help desk and hardware support for employees
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering outstanding internal customer service
  • Track record of successfully leading IT projects and improving system performance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with KatRisk's business objectives
  • Lead the migration of on-premises servers to cloud-based solutions, ensuring a seamless transition
  • Manage and optimize internal IT systems, including macOS devices, GSuite, Box, Zoom, Jira, HubSpot, and Slack
  • Oversee IT operations to ensure a superior employee experience, measured by user satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Partner with internal teams to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that drive growth and innovation
  • Ensure robust IT security measures and compliance with best practices, including SOC 2 requirements
  • Implement and maintain policies and processes to meet SOC 2 compliance standards
  • Manage IT help desk operations, providing exceptional laptop and hardware support for employees
  • Monitor and enhance cybersecurity protocols to protect company data and systems, including implementing penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Incorporate and manage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to streamline development and deployment processes
  • Design, implement, and manage a VPN infrastructure across multiple offices to ensure secure and efficient connectivity
  • Establish secure gateways, centralized authentication, and encryption protocols for VPN operations
  • Oversee the deployment and use of cybersecurity tools for network monitoring, incident response, and threat detection
  • Manage IT projects, including gathering business requirements, setting timelines, and delivering results on schedule
  • Oversee IT asset inventory, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budget
  • Provide clear communication to stakeholders about IT performance, project progress, and system improvements
