Summary
Join Pangaea as their Head of Marketplaces to spearhead the growth of their Amazon 3P business. You will build and lead the internal Amazon team, developing and executing strategies across advertising, content, operations, and more. This role demands cross-functional collaboration with sales, brand, creative, operations, and new product development teams. Responsibilities include managing the Amazon P&L, optimizing pricing and assortment, and driving content optimization. You will also lead Amazon acquisition strategies and oversee global marketplace expansion. The ideal candidate possesses extensive Amazon 3P experience, strong P&L management skills, and proven team leadership abilities.
Requirements
- Extensive Amazon 3P expert: 10+ years of hands-on experience building and scaling Amazon 3P business for CPG brands
- Deep experience with Amazon analytics, advertising platforms, and performance optimizations tools
- Strong P&L ownership experience balancing revenue growth with operational efficiency and profitability
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to hire, mentor, and scale high-performing teams
- Customer-Centric marketing skillset that balances performance-driven growth with premium brand presentation and positioning
- Exceptional analytical abilities with a talent for translating complex data into actionable, strategic decisions
- Comfortable leading organizational change and integrating marketplace thinking into the DNA of the business
Responsibilities
- Amazon Architect: Continue to build out our internal Amazon capabilities and own all aspects of our 3P business including overarching strategy, advertising, content, and operations
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration : Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Brand, Creative, Operations, and NPD teams to ensure Amazon strategies are aligned with broader business priorities
- Business ownership: Manage and optimize the Amazon P&L, focusing on both topline growth as well as profit improvement
- Pricing & Assortment: Collaborate with brand and new product teams to ensure the optimal Amazon portfolio; lead and execute on-platform promo strategies
- Content Optimization: Manage Amazon product listings by ensuring accurate and engaging product descriptions, images, and content that enhance the customer experience and drive conversions
- Acquisition Strategy: Spearhead Amazon acquisition strategy to maximize reach and sales volume including SEO/SEM, PPC, display ads, and affiliate marketing. and have a deep understanding of Amazon advertising strategies to maximize reach and sales
- Operations Liaison: Collaborate with the operations team to forecast demand, manage inventory, and optimize fulfillment
- Global Marketplace Expansion: Evaluate and launch in additional geographies within Amazon with potential of other marketplace expansion (i.e. Walmart, Nordstrom, etc)
- Data & Reporting: Own robust reporting, KPIs, and regular management updates to track performance and direct future strategy
- Organizational Integration: Partner with leadership across the company to ensure Amazon is fully integrated within the organization and a core growth lever connected to every function
