Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years of SEO experience, including 5+ years in leadership or managerial roles, overseeing strategy and team performance
  • Proven track record of driving significant organic growth through innovative SEO strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of technical SEO, content optimization, link-building strategies, and industry tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and growing teams of SEO specialists and strategists to achieve high performance
  • Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within teams
  • Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors or agencies
  • Strong ability to align SEO strategies with broader business objectives and marketing initiatives
  • Proven capacity to advocate for SEO priorities and build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders like content, product, CRO, and development teams
  • Expertise in establishing and tracking KPIs such as organic traffic, rankings, conversions, and ROI
  • Experience in conducting competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for growth

Responsibilities

  • Define (or co-define with TL) and Align SEO Strategy with business goals for all SEO-driven projects
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive SEO strategy that aligns with company goals to maximize organic search visibility and traffic growth with a clear focus on conversion
  • Identify opportunities for content optimization, technical SEO improvements, and link-building strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Create a roadmap of SEO initiatives, prioritizing projects based on expected impact and ROI
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SEO TL and Specialists fostering professional growth and ensuring high-performance execution
  • Set clear goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback to the team
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the SEO team
  • Partner with content, project, CRO, product, UX, and development teams to integrate SEO best practices into campaigns, website architecture, and product launches
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to align SEO efforts with broader marketing initiatives, driving synergies across paid and organic strategies
  • Advocate for SEO priorities and ensure alignment across departments
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for SEO performance, such as organic traffic, rankings, conversions, and ROI
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of SEO data to assess performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies for maximum impact
  • Generate regular performance reports and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Manage the SEO department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum ROI
  • Prioritize projects and initiatives based on business objectives and expected outcomes
  • Oversee external vendor relationships, including SEO tools, agencies, and consultants
  • Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, SEO trends, and industry best practices
  • Ensure the team adapts quickly to algorithm changes and new technologies to maintain and improve rankings
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in the SEO strategy
  • Collaborate with AI SEO researcher to maximize opportunities and insights related to Google's AI Overviews and emerging AI-driven search developments
  • Identify, vet, and establish partnerships with external SEO agencies, consultants, and vendors to support strategic initiatives
  • Manage agency relationships, ensuring clear communication, alignment on goals, and effective execution of deliverables
  • Allocate budget to external partners based on performance expectations and ROI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with website platforms and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Shopify) and technical tools (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, and CSS basics)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions
  • Ability to identify and seize opportunities for SEO growth, even in competitive or challenging markets
