Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English with a professional and empathetic tone when speaking with patients

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls, ensuring a courteous and professional interaction with patients
  • Assess patient needs over the phone and direct messages to the appropriate medical staff through the EMR system for timely follow-up and resolution
  • Ensure timely follow-through on patient phone encounters, maintaining clear communication and documentation within the EMR system
  • Provide accurate information regarding appointments, procedures, and general inquiries, while maintaining a patient-focused approach
  • Schedule appointments for new patients, follow-up visits, and in-office procedures, ensuring accurate planning and coordination, particularly regarding the need for sedation
  • Utilize our EMR system (Modernizing Medicine) to document call details, input patient information, and maintain up-to-date electronic medical records
  • Assist physicians and medical staff with administrative tasks, including calendar management, correspondence preparation, and telemedicine coordination
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate coding and submission of insurance claims, following up on billing inquiries and discrepancies as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role handling phone-based patient interactions
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, billing codes, and insurance verification processes
