Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Have minimum 1-2 years of HR experience
  • Have a proficient understanding of employment laws and regulations, particularly in the USA
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective engagement across all levels of the organization
  • Possess critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Possess strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate seamless onboarding processes for new hires, including coordinating orientation sessions, providing necessary training materials, and ensuring completion of required documentation
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding procedures for exiting employees, including processing final payments, collecting company property, and deactivating access to systems and facilities
  • Be proficient in utilizing payroll systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now or Run, to process payroll accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll issues and discrepancies
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and other related benefits
  • Collaborate with benefits providers to ensure smooth enrollment processes and timely resolution of benefit-related issues
  • Educate employees on available benefits options and assist with benefits-related inquiries
  • Stay abreast of changes in federal and state employment laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to payroll and benefits administration. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA)
  • Assist the client in managing employee relations, ensuring a positive work environment and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including payroll data, benefits elections, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of employee information and sensitive HR data
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment and consistency in HR processes and practices
  • Partner with external vendors, such as benefits brokers and payroll service providers, to optimize HR service delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have USA payroll and benefit exposure
  • Have experience with Canadian HR functions, including payroll and benefits management
  • Be flexible to work in EST / PST time zone
